Kids Week: Sandy Ground History

When school’s out, parks are the city’s natural classroom! Bring your kids to parks throughout the city for Kids Week during Mid-winter Recess. With programs led by Urban Park Rangers, kids will get to experience nature in a hands-on and fun way. Celebrate Black History Month by learning about the oldest freed black settlement in New York City. Participants will walk the trails of Sandy Ground Woods, and then create a strawberry and oyster themed craft.
