Pumpkin Smash at Hudson River Park
Hudson River Park hosts the annual Pumpkin Smash at Pier 84. New Yorkers of all ages are invited to bring their post-Halloween pumpkins and smash them into small pieces with their choice of a bat, hammer, or shovel. After smashing, the remains will be broken down and repurposed into compost by Hudson River Park staff to enrich the Park’s lawns and flowerbeds. Visitors can stick around to learn about composting and how it helps divert seasonal organic waste from landfills.
