Lifting Our Voices: A Tribute to the Johnson Brothers
Join the Manhattan Opera Repertory Ensemble (MORE Opera) in concert for the final installment of a concert series celebrating the 125th anniversary of “Lift Every Voice and Sing. Lifting Our Voices: A Tribute to the Johnson Brothers is a family-friendly, free performance of art songs, spirituals and opera with an original narrative exploring the significance of the anthem and the contributions of its creators, civil rights activist James Weldon Johnson and his younger brother, composer-pianist J. Rosamond Johnson in the 20th century.
