Historic New York: Lenape Folktales

Walk around Snug Harbor with NYC Parks Department Urban Park Rangers to enjoy the beautiful landscape and learn about the Lenape’s traditional practice of oral storytelling. Rangers will share stories that come from the Lenape and discuss the lessons they can still teach us to this day. At the end of the walk, the Rangers and patrons attending the program will work together to craft a new folktale to share with friends and family. The Rangers will also share folktales from cultures around the world to highlight that every culture has stories to tell. Feel free to bring and share traditional folktales from your heritage as well!
