Explore North Mt. Loretto State Forest

The 74-acre North Mt. Loretto State Forest is a diverse green space in southern part of Staten Island. It features wetland habitats and mixed hardwood forest. Participants examine the topography and history of the area. With a loop around the eastern side of the forest by the Red and Blue trails, participants visit the power house and church in the developed area to the south, then return to the parking lot by way of Cunningham Road. Meet in NYSDEC parking lot at Amboy Road and Cunningham Road, Staten Island. If there has been a recent rain, or a thaw, boots are advised, since some of the trails, if not frozen, may be muddy.
