Cabin Fever Reliever: Rope Making Workshop

In the course of everyday life, rope and cordage tie our world together. Today, rope is a product made industrially at scale. Before the arrival of rope-making factories, rope was made by twisting fibers together with simple machines and hand techniques. This workshop will explore the history of ropemaking and provides hands-on activities including making hand cordage and a length of rope using a reproduction winding machine.
